Unfortunately, carmakers have increased their prices by ₱5,000 to ₱80,000 this 2022. So, yes car prices have definitely gone up, and this is due to the rising cost of raw materials and the demand for these private vehicles in the Philippines has gone up over the years. Here is the price increase from all the different car manufacturers to date.
Ford has increased the price of some of its vehicles by ₱50,000 including the Ford Ranger Raptor from ₱ 1,998,000 to ₱2,048,000 and the Ford EcoBoost from ₱2,858,000 to ₱2,948,000. Honda has also increased their prices including the Honda Accord is now at ₱2,350,000 from ₱2,308,000. KIA has also seen price increases for their cars which includes the KIA Soluto and the KIA Stonic which has seen a price increase of roughly about ₱20,000. As for Toyota, they have had some price increases for their higher-end models, but the prices of their popular car models have generally stayed the same over the years.
Overall car prices have gone up, but some car brands are doing their best to keep their prices competitive.
This is a tough question to answer as it depends on each person’s individual circumstances. For example, if you only need a car for a short period of time, then renting might be the better option for you. However, if you’re looking to have a car long-term, then owning one might be the way to go.
The bottom line is that there are pros and cons to both leasing and owning a car. It’s important to weigh all your options before making a decision. We hope this article has helped shed some light on the current state of car rentals and prices in Manila!
